Choirs and Ensembles
"Spirit Rings On" Handbell Choir

Open to teens and adults. Basic understanding of music helpful and the ability to count and keep a beat! Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:00pm - 7:15pm

Adult Choir


This is a choral ensemble made up of all ages and abilities of teen and adult worshipers. They rehearse on Wednesdays at 7:30pm and sing for three services a month, plus special services such as Christmas, Holy Week, Advent Concert, Ash Wednesday and Confirmation.

Children's Choir
This choir, for children from Holy Spirit, St. Anthony and St. John Cantius parishes in grades 2-6, meets three times a month at 5:15 – 6:00 pm on Wednesdays, and leads song for one Saturday liturgy a month, plus serves at a special Christmas Eve service with a pre-liturgy program; also TV Mass, caroling, and pizza/potluck parties.

Choir information

Cantemos

This is a group of youth musicians grades 7 - 12 that sing about once every 4-6 weeks. There is one rehearsal the week before the Mass (rehearsal date is chosen based on extra-curricular schedules) and also 45 minutes before Mass. Opportunities to play guitar, woodwind, brass or percussion instruments with this group are also available.
Funeral Choir
The funeral choir is comprised of parishioners who come together to sing at Resurrection Masses. When they occur, funerals usually take place on weekday mornings. No experience is required.

Cantor
The cantor announces and leads songs, hymns and acclamations for the congregation. He/she also serves as psalmist. The cantor should have confidence, reading music and having prior vocal experience is important. Training is available for all new cantors.

Instrumentalist
Opportunities are available to lead the congregation in song serving as an organ, piano, guitar, or instrumental accompanist.
