Members of this ministry strive to make each person feel welcomed. They assist with greeting parishioners, helping them find places to sit, taking up collection, distributing bulletins and preparing the church after each Mass.
These confirmed ministers assist in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass. Some share Eucharist as they celebrate with the sick and homebound. Approval from the Bishop for Commissioning is required. (Training and scheduling of Homebound ministers of the Eucharist is done by the Pastoral Associate).
Boys and girls who have made their First Eucharist and have completed third grade assist the Priest at scheduled weekend liturgies. Opportunities to serve at weddings and funerals are also available.
Lectors tell our story by proclaiming Scripture. Through their proclaiming, they make Christ present to us in the Word. Lectors should be confident and have good diction. People who are at least 16 years of age are encouraged to join this ministry.
Those involved in this ministry care for the sacred vessels and some light cleaning of the sanctuary. This ministry requires a few minutes before and/or after Mass to see that the preparations for the following liturgy are completed.
Volunteers are needed to help decorate the worship space and the gathering space before Christmas and Holy Week. A smaller committee meets to determine environment and decoration for Advent, Lent and Ordinary Time.
Easter Decorating will take place after the 1pm Good Friday Liturgy.
